Kia sales reached historic highs in 2021

Kia had its best year ever in terms of sales in 2021, selling 79,198 vehicles and finishing the year with 7 months of record-breaking sales. These results are even more impressive knowing the challenges that the automotive industry had last year with inventory issues and the pandemic. 2021 highlights included an all-time record-breaking month of June where Kia recorded its best-ever sales month.

Top sales came from the 2021 Kia Seltos, Kia Forte, and Kia Sportage. 2021 sales we're 9.3% higher than 2020 and Kia also received numerous awards including two AJAC category wins for the Kia K5 and the Kia Telluride. Kia was also recognized by J.D. Power as the number one mass-market brand and its 2021 Vehicle Dependability Study. Last but not least, Kia took home three autotrader.ca awards.

The Kia Seltos LED model sales in 2021 with a total of 14,436 units sold, slightly edging the Kia Forte compact sedan which had 13,190 units sold. Kia electric vehicles also did very well in 2021, increasing sales by 24% for the Kia Soul EV.

“Our success in 2021 can be attributed to our industry leading design, safety and technology, as well as our dedicated dealer network, who remained agile in servicing our customers throughout another pandemic year,” says Elias El-Achhab, Chief Operating Officer at Kia Canada. “As we look forward to 2022, consumer demand remains exceptionally high, leaving us optimistic for the year ahead with new and exciting models like the highly anticipated Kia EV6, set to arrive in dealerships early next year.”
