The Kia Niro has always stood out in the industry as a versatile and dynamic smaller urban SUV that is perfect for young families or active buyers. It has also stood out with its multiple powertrain options that include a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. The Kia Niro will continue to offer a fast set of engine options and a lot of interior space, but it has also received key improvements in very important areas.
For starters, the interior of the 2023 Kia Niro is not just more spacious, it is a lot more modern.
The design of the centre console and dash is inspired by the brand-new Kia EV6. you will find two large 10.25 in screens which houses a new infotainment system and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Kia Niro will also offer advanced voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The seats can be heated, ventilated, and they offer multiple memory settings. Ultimately, the 2023 Kia Niro is a lot more luxurious and refined and it is also more advanced.
It will also feature more interior space thanks to a longer wheelbase which translates into more interior space for passengers, especially for the legs in the back. With 646 litres of total cargo space, the 2022 Kia Niro also offers more versatility.
Under the hood, the 2023 Kia Niro hybrid will feature the same powertrain with 139 horsepower and 195 lb ft of torque. However, the Kia Niro PHEV gets a more powerful electric engine with 62 KW instead of 45 for 180 total horsepower. The larger 11.1 kWh battery increases all-electric range from 42 km to 53.
As for the fully electric Kia Niro, it gets a slightly larger 64.8 kWh battery which increases range to 407 km, a significant increase of 22 km over the previous Niro. The electric version continues to offer 201 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque.
